Following the success of last years event, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has expanded the 4th Annual Holi Mahotsav Festival to now run for 2 days on Saturday April 1 & Sunday April 2, 2006 at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour. On Saturday morning at 10.30 am, the first ever Street Parade for the Indian community featuring the ISKCON hand pulled Rath Yatra chariot will gloriously parade from Hyde Park North down George St to Tumbalong park where the Festival will begin where you will find Sydney`s finest vegetarian food, a variety of Indian entertainment, culminating in the cultural bonfire from 6.30 till 8.30pm. On Sunday the ancient colour powder throwing ritual will commence from 11am till 6pm. All are welcome to join the fun! The entertainment will continue throughout the day. Here you will find many traditional Indian merchandise stalls. Vision Asia Home Theatre will showcase the best of South Asian television for your entertainment. The event is free to the general public. Over 40,000 people attended the festival last year.
