A Historic Moment In an auspicious ceremony, the world`s first International Mother Language Day monument has been unveiled in Sydney`s Ashfield park on the 19th day of February in the year 2006 AD.Ekushe Academy, a Bangladeshi community organisation in Sydney, took the initiative to build this historic monument. Other side... The monument is made of a single piece of 900 million years old rock. It is nearly 4 meters tall, 90 cm wide and 21 cm thick.
